Algeria-EU:Talks on European Neighbourhood Policy to start on January 23 in Algiers
Algiers (20/01/2012)-Forward-looking discussions with EU officials on the accession of Algeria accession to the renewed neighborhood European Policy will start on January 23 in Algiers, official spokesman to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ammar Belani says.
Ammar Belani added that the FM Mourad Medelci announced on several occasions that “Algeria government decided to start forward-looking negotiations directly in order to join the European renewed neighborhood policy”.
“In this regard and in the context of partnership, forward-looking talks with EU officials will be launched on January 23 in Algiers, in order to study the principles and major axes for the future of bilateral action that would take in account the specifics and needs of our country”, Belani explained.
“Following the inauguration of the Sub-Commission of the political, security and human rights dialogue which held its first session on 3 and 4 October 2011 in Algiers, this accession reflects the tight ties with our European partners”.
