Algeria: “Extra measures to facilitate road traffic during holy month of Ramadhan”
The national security services (DGSN) have taken a string of extra measures aimed at facilitating road traffic and warding off road accidents on the occasion of the upcoming holy month of fasting of Ramadhan across the national territory.
-
By virtue of this bolstered apparatus, the security services will endeavour to guarantee the easy flow of road traffic through an all-out mobilization of human and material resources endowed with a network of manifold surveillance cameras under the supervision of the operations management.
-
- This high-tech device is designed to steadily monitor the road traffic situation and to allow for a swift intervention in case of severe traffic jams during Ramadhan which is usually marked by a dense road traffic notably in the morning and shortly before and after the “F’tour” or breaking of the fast.
- Police agents will be deployed on the ground with a strong concentration at the level of principal and secondary roads as well as in certain “black spots” of the big urban centers.
- Furthermore, the police agents will also be entrusted with preventing offenses and crimes by ensuring the protection of citizens and their property as part of this beefed-up security apparatus to be enforced during all the month of Ramadhan, until the Eid feast in early September.
