Algeria grants allowance to 21,000 terrorism countering volunteers
Algeria’s national defence ministry submitted lists of more than 21,000 names of people who voluntarily helped the National Popular Army in countering terrorism. This was meant to settle their retirement allowance while the Army higher commandment pledged to improve their living conditions.
A release issued by the ministry said a meeting was held on June 1st at the Army’s National Club in Algiers upon instructions from the Army’s higher commandment.
The meeting dealt with some technical details about the settlement of retirement allowances and unsolved issues.
The ministry says it has been in charge of those persons’ rights since 2014 via the military retirement fund.
According to the same release, the lists were transmitted to the labor and social security ministry.
