Algeria Informed Tunisia About Ben Guerdane Terrorist Attack Before Implimention

Algerian security services monitored the terrorist attack on Ben Guerdane that was carried out by ISIS, a day before its implementation, on March 7, in Tunisia, and monitored unusual movements of the terrorist organization then informed the Tunisian authorities at the time, as the border guards backed up the two border centres, at the level of El Oued province (southern Algeria), a well informed source told Echorouk.

“Two new border control centres were created on the border point of El Oued, which is the closest to Libya soil, which is considered the largest store for the sale of various types of weapons in the region, that are smuggled through Tunisia, in order to strengthen the presence of Algerian armed troops, through the Algerian-Tunisian border, bringing the number of fixed border guards’ centres to seven, and the advanced centres to three, which mission is the persistent monitoring at the length of 340 kilometres, or about one-third of the length of the common border between the two countries. These centres were provided with various day and night surveillance equipment, control towers and various types of weapons that preserve the country’s security.”

“Construction works of the berm on the Algerian-Tunisian border, on the borderline level of El Oued, where the completion of 50 km out of 340 km that were planned, as the berm consists of a deep ditch and a high sandy mount that was installed with various ways, and the completion of the berm would allow the continuous movement of ISIS terrorists, along the common borders between the two countries.”
