Algeria: inquiry opened over cheating in Baccalaureate exams

General Director of Exams National Office Ali Salhi Friday called in chiefs of Baccalaureate centers where cheating in philosophy subject cases were suspected, Echorouk has learnt.

Salhi will personally supervise the cheating issue.

The exam was held on the Baccalaureate’s third day. Candidates in different centers expressed anger over philosophy questions and described them as difficult. They broke tables and chairs and beat supervisors.

Lists of suspected candidates’ names were submitted to the office director so that he will follow them seriously at correction centers.

If correctors confirm the cheating cases, the candidates’ sheets will be excluded.

 

Centers will start correcting the exam sheets on June 15th and results will ne announced on the Internet on July 7th.
