Algeria MSP launches TV channel from Tunisia
Former leader of Algeria’s FLN party and potential candidates for presidential elections 2014 Ali Benflis refused to hold a meeting with MSP’s leader Abderrezak Mokri who conducts consultations with different party leaders about next Summer’s presidential elections.
According to sources, the meeting was expected to be held in mid-Ramadan. Benflis told him he can not attend the meeting due to Algeria’s general situation and his obligations.
According to the same sources, it is believed that Benflis rejected Mokri’s invitation as MSP is an opposition party.
Earlier, Mokri met many political personalities including the RCD, Fouzi Rebaine and his counterparts from Islamic movements.
The MSP party is expected to launch its TV channel based in Tunisia before 2014’s elections.
Earlier, Tunisia’s Rached Ghanouchi rejected the MSP’s request for the channel fearing that Algerian authorities would not be satisfied by the channel’s contents.
Sources say Ghanouchi has recently accepted the MSP’s request following meetings on visits paid by Nahda’s members to Algeria.
