Algeria must pay 316 billion centimes in pending debts to French hospitals!
Algeria, for its medical care expenditure abroad is indebted to several hospitals in France, to the tune of 31.6 million Euros, or the rough equivalent of 316 billion centimes in Dinars.
Hence, Algeria is listed as the most indebted country in the world to France, in terms of medical care and hospitalization, followed by Morocco with 11 million Euros, the United States with 5.7 million Euros, then Belgium 4.9 million Euros, Tunisia with 4.7 million Euros and lastly Italy with 4.1 million Euros.
A right-wing Parliamentarian representing the Ardennes region, Mr Pelletier, told the French health Minister that the countries sending their patients in France, including Algeria, must pay their outstanding health debts under bilateral agreements and to map out an emergency debt payment scheme to bail out the French hospitals.
Despite assurances from the Algerian side in the past, to have cleared Algeria’s debts owed to French hospitals, however, this issue remains on the backburner on December 8, 2015, with the aforementioned sum still unpaid.
