Algeria Products Reach Germany, Côte d'Ivoire, Italy, and Libya
Algeria officially started the export of all agricultural products, which recorded a surplus, and that are subject to export at competitive prices, as a German delegation will visit Oued Souf (Southern Algeria), in order to negotiate a contract that will be signed.
Echorouk sources said that Algeria will officially begin the exportation of all agricultural products, as a German delegation is expected to visit Oued Souf next week, in order to negotiate a contract that will be concluded, and it will also export products to other countries that expressed an interest in the Algerian products, like Italy and Cote d’Ivoire, which recorded a deficit in potatoes, where it is sold to 13 euros per kg, and Libya, which sent a delegation to the same province for negotiation.
But the problem of instability hinders the exports, as the Libyan partners agreed to provide the product and deliver it to the Algerian-Libyan border, and then they will take care of entering it to Libya, as the Algerian producers wait for studying the Algerian-Libyan agreements in this area.
Djamaleddine Essayd, the owner of the International Fishing Services Company told Echorouk: “Agreement with the Spanish delegation, who visited Oued Souf on Friday, and briefed on agricultural products, which noticed a record surplus in Algeria, and the Spanish company will market it, and agreed with more than 17 European importers to take it upon themselves the marketing in the European markets.
“Over 900 tons of various agricultural products will be exported to Spain. Potato producers in Oued Souf will export 150 tons of potatoes each week, with an average of a container in each week, and 600 tons per month. Algerian dates will be exported in a container next week in order to put them on the market, especially as the Spanish consumer is unaware of the quality of Algerian dates, and they will market various Iranian and Tunisian dates, including the “Deglet Noor” to set the world’s competitive price, and concerning the export of dates, one container will be exported except on Sunday, I.e 24 containers per month.”
“As for other products like tomatoes, sweet peppers, chillies, onions and peas, they will be exported according to the national seasonal program, and in the case of registering an abundance and surplus, they will be exported according to the competitive price, I.e 200 tons per week.”
