Algerian authorities have started recouping 320 secret documents related to senior officials of the liberation war (1954-1962) from South Africa, reliable source revealed to Echorouk reporter.

The source said both France and the United States possess copies of the documents, but have been rejecting to hand them over to Algeria.

This operation is part of a convention sealed between Algeria and South Africa, and is due to permit to the North African nation to get back 320 documents about reports and details about the struggle of the Algerian revolution’s senior officials.

The source said these documents were carried by agents to the CIA Station in South Africa, before being referred to the French intelligence services.
