Algeria / Reinforcement of security apparatus in expectation of holy month of fasting of Ramadhan.

“Echorouk Al Yaoumi” has learnt that the security services have started enforcing a drastic security plan in the province of Algiers and other big cities in a bid to stave off any new terrorist attack during the holy month of fasting of Ramadhan, slated this year for early September.

• The drastic security measures have already been implemented a week before the start of Ramadhan with thousands of Policemen and Gendarmes on the look-out for any incident or suspicious movements.
• Numerous plainclothes security agents will also be deployed in the main points of city notably in local markets, around mosques and in entertainment places which are frequented by a lot of citizens, especially during the nights of Ramadhan.
• The security services will also beef up controls of vehicles around the clock along the highways and main roads to avert any terrorists’ infiltration into the city.
• Numerous surveillance cameras will also be operational to scan all movements on the city’s main streets as past of this stringent security apparatus.
