Algeria rejects the intervention of Ghannouchi in 2014 Presidential Elections

Algerian Foreign Minister expressed surprise of the statements that were made by the Head of the Tunisian Nahda Movement, Ghannouchi, who is visiting Algeria within the framework of the tenth anniversary of the death of Sheikh Mahfoud Nahnah, founder of the Movement of Society for Peace “Hams”.

Algerian media quoted Ghannouchi, as saying that the head of the movement Abderazzaq Makri, isthe most viable candidate for 2014 presidential elections.

Ammar Belani, told media, that the head of the Tunisian Nahda Movement, Rached Ghannouchi, is aseasoned politician, adding that these statements may be attributed to him by mistake, because they are considered as being interference in the internal affairs of Algeria.

During his visit to Algiers, the leader of the Tunisian Nahda, Rachid Ghannouchi, was accompaniedby the Adviser of the President of the Republic Sayed Ali Boghzi. He called upon the components ofthe Islamic movement in Algeria to union.

The issue of external support for the Islamic trend in Algeria, especially the Muslim Brotherhood, is considered an issue of high sensitivity for the Algerian regime and official Algeria in general, givenAlgeria’s permanent keenness, since independence, on non-interference in the internal policies of the countries, including the countries that are close to it in the neighborhood, but the state of vulnerability that was experienced by the system, due to the situation in the Arab and regional levels, and transmission of the fire to the neighboring countries in both Libya and Mali, made the Islamic movement, headed by the Muslim Brotherhood, which wants to take advantage of this opportunity, which is for him more than vital to weaken, and why not finish a system which controlled the countryfor more than half  a century.

Global Muslim Brotherhood is trying to push Algeria to the front of events, although it refuses the explicit recognition of this position, but is trying to pressurize, in order not to stop the spring on the outskirts of Algiers, as it also believes that the current mainstream which is backed by USA andQatar, and which governs today’s Egypt, Libya and Tunisia, and considered Algeria as an issue oftime only.

Some observers think that the floundering system, which was surprised by the illness of the President Bouteflika, and his quest for a ready successor, is an opportunity for the Islamic trend and the Muslim Brotherhood in particular, that cannot be repeated twice in a lifetime, to get to rule the country, either through the polls, through a form of compatibility with the system, or through the street in the worst cases, and the second case will not be without support from abroad, which encourages such a step, because it is in its view the most appropriate because it has succeeded in the so-called countries of the Arab Spring, especially in Tunisia and Egypt which were the least bloody, compared with the experience of Libya and Syria, which is considered the black point.
