Algeria / Seizure of loads of smuggled explosives destined to « Salafist terrorist group » in Ain Defla province
The National Gendarmerie forces succeeded, late last week, in intercepting a large quantity of smuggled explosives in Ain Defla province on board a transport bus coming from the city of Tlemcen and heading for the capital Algiers.

The travelling transport bus was stopped and searched at a check point set up by National Gendarmerie elements who discovered the explosives hidden inside several suitcases belonging to 2 individuals who were arrested on the spot.

The 2 arrested men, hailing from the town of Bordj Menail, are said to be part of a logistical back-up network of the “Salafist group for preaching and combat” –GSPC-.

According to the preliminary investigation which is still underway, the seized explosives were smuggled from Algeria’s western borders and were destined to GSPC terrorist groups based in Boumerdes province, 50 km east of Algiers.
