Algeria supports a political solution to Northern Mali crisis, Medelci says

Algiers- Algeria was in favor of a political solution to the situation in Northern Mali and “dialogue in a purely political framework”, FM Mourad Medelci said here on Tuesday.

In a press statement, on the sidelines of the audience granted to the Serbian Minister of Economy and Regional Development, Medelci asserted; “We should find a political solution to the Tuaregs who face today a crisis. Algeria has always embraced the dialogue between the conflicting parties as part of Algiers agreement”.

“Cooperation between Algeria and Mali continues to boost partnership at all levels, including security under the current conditions”, he added.

“We work with the Malian government in the context of decisions taken at the regional plan to combat terrorism and not launch a war against the Tuaregs who are also citizens of these countries.
