Algeria to host ''Kuwaiti Cultural Days'', September 22-25

National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature (NCCAL) announced on Sunday Kuwait's participation in events to celebrate the city of Tlemcen, Algeria, as the capital of Islamic culture for the year 2011 through holding Kuwaiti cultural days there.

Coordinator of the celebration Munir Al-Otaibi told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) today that the festivity will take place September 22-25.


He added that the delegation participating in the activities comprises of 45 people, headed by Assistant Secretary General of the NCCAL.


He pointed out that the program, prepared by the Council, includes an Islamic calligraphy gallery and Kuwait’s book exhibition that provides a set of the Council’s publications.


Al-Otaibi said the cultural days will also showcase a gallery of books and manuscripts of Arabic heritage, which emphasizes the importance of manuscripts in enriching the culture.
