Algeria to Incentivise Unconventional Gas Exploration

- Mr Ali Hached, an adviser to Algeria’s Energy and Mines minister Youcef Yousfi, said focus would be on tight gas and shale gas.
- He said the incentives were part of a proposed amendment to Algeria’s hydrocarbons law which is still being examined by the government.
- Mr Ali Hached said the amendment would offer improved terms for future contracts with foreigns partners be they conventional or unconventional.
- It would be “in proportion of the difficulty” of each acreage, Mr Hached explained.
