Algeria Wants Oil And Sea Gas In Sardinia With Support Of “Eni”

An Italian politician, through a local newspaper on the island of Sardinia, accused Algeria of having included the maritime zone opposite the island to it, in the context of what is known as the Exclusive Economic Zone (ZEE), with a desire for oil and gas resources that are abundant in the region, indicating that Algeria’s efforts were supported by Eni The Italian energy group, which hailed in 2018 the decision of Algeria to launch projects to explore marine hydrocarbons in the region.

In the context, the local newspaper, “Oneone Sarda” on the island, said that the exclusive marine economic zone, which was annexed by Algeria in March 2018, has significant reserves of oil and gas, and the evidence – according to it – is the American and Norwegian ships, which have been roaming the area to conduct survey studies, as well as conducting natural studies on marine species and sea temperature.

In an article signed by Mauro Pelli, the former president of the Sardinian region and a member of the “Italy Forward -FORZA ITALIA” party led by Silvio Berlusconi, the confirmed accusations of Algeria were not the result of numbers, but rather due to the dangerous step taken by Algeria, as he said, when it included The Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) by presidential decree in March 2018, whereby it occupied the sea area opposite Sardinia, within the framework of what is known as the EEZ (ZEE) zone unilaterally.

According to the Italian politician, the Italian company “Eni” for governmental energy, was aware of this Algerian decree, announcing the launch of its investments in Algerian marine fuels (OffShore), but it is in fact located in the western maritime region of Sardinia, as he claimed.

The Italian politician claimed that the issue of the Special Economic Zone of Algeria in the Akkir Dar Sardinia is not a bureaucratic issue whose fate is decided at the United Nations Glass Palace in New York, but rather is related mainly to energy resources, indicating that in the fortified safes of multinational oil companies, there are documents that enable understanding of the causes of what he described as the “Algerian attack” on the Sardinian Sea.
According to him, the Algerian flag in the Sardinian Sea was not packed in the dark, and there was no reason to take these measures, which he described as “evil” from one side (the presidential decree), if Algeria had no certainty of something, and this is after it happened ( Algeria) refers to a secret study of intelligence and the US Department of the Interior, entitled Regional Geological Survey, and the possibilities of hydrocarbons in the Mediterranean region, “which show the capabilities of this marine region in relation to oil and gas.
