Algeria will not hand over Gueddafi family members to NTC

The Algerian government is not bound to respond to extradition claims by the Libyan Transitional Council NTC regarding Moammar Gueddafi’s family members who entered Algeria, a government source told Echorouk. Gueddafi’s wife Safia, daughter Aicha and sons Mohamed and Hanibal have been given refuge on humanitarian ground, says Algeria. The NTC called it hostile act and claimed extradition of the gueddafi’s to face justice. Algeria which has not recognized yet the NTC, says it will not give them back unless there is an international warrant against them. The source says the Algerian government is however ready to let them go to a third country if they wish. Aicha, gueddafi’s daughter gave birth in a hospital southern Algeria where the refugees are based under high protection.
