A joint unit of army and border police has managed to localize in northern Mali terror training camps belonging to al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM).

A security source revealed to Echorouk reporter that the localization of these potential terror spots was an outcome of a reconnaissance operation conducted by the joint security force, with the use of modern military devices. The operation is part of the joint military force of the four Sahel countries, including Mali, Niger and Mauritania, noting that the Algerian army has already provided to Mali maps of describing AQIM fiefs on its lands. Algeria has been toughening control on border with Mali as result of the triggering armed conflict between Malian army and Azwad rebels claiming independence in northern Mali. Menawhile, the national army forces, on Saturday night, killed four militants as they were trying to cross border with Mali to the North African nation. The militants were killed in the locality of Nourine, near Tinzaouatine border city by an air strike, as a Toyota Station which carried them was bombarded, while the other vehicle managed to flee to Libyan territory. The dead crops were transferred to Tamenrasset hospital, as they are to be identified by forensics. The army forces resized a rocket launcher trafficked from Libya in this operation.
