Algerian bank to grant 600 Euros per year for Algerians travelling abroad
The Algerian central bank is due to pronounce over the next few days on the suggestion to increase the travel benefit from 140 to 500 or 600 Euros per year in accordance with new requirements that should be fulfilled by the beneficiary.
Reliable sources have indicated to Echouorouk that the bank has set up a steering committee to discuss the project and review the amount of the bonus top be granted to the travellers one in a year.
Though the amount of 600 Euros per capita per year is regarded as a respectable one in comparison to the previous bonus which is estimated at 140 Euros, it remains far from covering the expenses of a traveller in one of the European countries.
600 Euros do not cover the fees of a week stay in an average hotel located in Europe for example, but the move is highly appreciated by the plain citizens provided that the bank set up firm requirements to bare the route for the speculators.
The decision to increase the allowance came following staunch critics launched by the members of the parliament against the bank’s governor Mohamed Laksaci during his yearly financial assessment last month.
