Algerian Community In Turkey, Italy Appeals To The President To Open Borders

The Algerian Community Forum in Turkey was surprised by the recent instructions issued by the government regarding the Algerian immigrants, regarding imposing the exceptional permission to return to the homeland.

“The decision has confused the community and increased its anxiety, which led to disrupting its interests in the country”, it said.

The ACF spoke about what it called “Administrative manipulations and favouritism in the process of granting the exceptional licence at the expense of those who deserve it”, while the passport is the legal permission for any Algerian citizens to return to their country, without any justifications or explanations.

The forum’s chairman, Houdhaifa Djabari, to Echorouk that there is currently no justification for the continued closure of borders, at a time when international airports are witnessing the near-normal movement, taking into account the necessary preventive measures, denouncing in the same context the continuation of Foreign airlines flights from Algeria, in light of the almost complete suspension of Air Algérie, which weakens the company’s economical situation.

The spokesman was surprised to schedule 12 exceptional weekly trips to France at a time when the Algerian community in Turkey is calling for a humanitarian decision towards it, appealing to the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to give orders to reopen the borders with the need to adhere to preventive measures as soon as possible.

For its part, the Algerian community in Italy sent a letter to President Tebboune, which copy owns Echorouk, appealing to him to open the borders and reconsider the division of travel quotas, similar to the establishment of the principle of equal opportunities among the community’s members, in this difficult health period.

The representative of the community in Italy, Assia Belhadj, who pledged to adhere to all necessary health measures, at a time when hopes remain hanging until the division of flights in the various countries of the community’s presence is reconsidered, at a time when the government recently issued instructions for the launch of evacuation trips organized by Air Algérie, which included France, Spain and Germany, that will continue until January 31, 2021.
