Algerian expatriate fans make fiesta in Johannesburg streets upon Greens' arrival in South Africa

Echorouk's special envoy to South Africa for the coverage of the 2010 World cup contest took a flight yesterday to Johannesburg to take the pulse of the city and to meet with members of the Algerian community settled there ahead of the kick off of this prestigious World football competition.  

• Our reporter was flabbergasted on the spot by the great and spirited enthusiasm displayed by the hundreds of Algerian expatriates settled in Johannesburg ahead of the World cup matches with on focus Algeria’s participation in this mega football jamboree.

• Upon the arrival 2 days ago of the Algeria squad in Durban, South Africa, scores of Algerian residents of Durban and Johannesburg took to the streets on cars draped in Algerian colours to voice heartily their all-out support for the national football team in a good-natured and festive atmosphere.

• All the Algerian fans told out reporter that they would not relent in their full backing for the Greens’ in order to boost them to clinch victories during their world cup matches.

• The Algerian residents of Johannesburg also pledged on the occasion to extend the necessary support if need be to all the Algerian fans coming from Algeria to back the national squad during this world cup tournament.
