Algerian government gives green light to Sudanese meat imports

“Echorouk” has learnt from authorized sources that the Algerian authorities have cleared all hurdles on the way towards the import of meat products from Sudan after the close supervisory work done over the past few weeks by Algerian health specialists in conjunction with their Sudanese counterparts.

  •  The go-ahead was finally given by the Agriculture Minister, Rachid Benaissa, after a recent broad- based meeting in Algiers with Algerian and Sudanese health specialists who briefed the minister on all the tests conducted on Sudanese meat and their positive outcome.
  •
  •
  • This broad-based bilateral encounter which also saw the presence of a host of Algerian economic operators had been the third of the like since the beginning of the year.
  •
  •
  • Furthermore, Algerian vetenerary surgeons have paid several visits to Sudan to see for themselves the good quality of Sudanese meat by currying out on the spot a series of minute and rigorous tests on this meat destined to import before stating that the Sudanese meat is to all intents and purposes wholesome and could be consumed in Algeria with no health hazard at all.
