Algerian Hospitals Face a Crisis of Anti-inflammatory Drugs
Dates of thousands of surgeries at the national level were postponed, due to the lack of the anesthesia necessary to inject the whole body or localized of the patient, prior to surgery, and since two years ago, the problem of volatility and imbalances in the vaccination program did not exist in the sector even at the height of the security crisis – and when t he vaccine is available, only small quantities are provided in spaced periods.
Doctors still face a critical situation with their patients as a result of the intractable circumstances, due to the postponement of surgical procedures, to an unspecified date, as the first responsible is the Ministry of Health, Population and Hospital Reform, which faces a second responsibility, related to citizens’ protests and anger against the medical crew, due to the lack of vaccines, which is the heart of the health system, and other essential medicines directed for the service of urgency.
In the same context, the National Union of Practitioners of Public Health warned of the consequences of ignorance by the Health Minister to the professional demands, primarily to ensure patient health.
The same union called upon the president to intervene to save the health system in Algeria. Head of the union, Elias Merabet told Echorouk, that the conduct of the health sector, “is through media statements by the minister, in light of the bad and clear professional reality, and which wants to mislead public opinion and power, leaving a rosy picture.”
