Algerian Lawyers’ Union chief to Ecourouk: we’ll paralyze the courts to denounce the judges’ dictate.

Algerian Lawyers’ Union chief to Ecourouk: we’ll paralyze the courts to denounce the judges’ dictate.

Talking at “Echourouk forum”, the chairman of the Algerian Lawyers Associations Al Anouar Mustapha has dwelt over the new draft law set to be to be presented to the legal committee of the parliament

  •

  •

  • He has indicated that the 15 unions that took part to the Extraordinary Assembly held in Bejaia, on October 14-15 have insisted on the revision of the provisions that could embarrass the lawyers and not cancel them.

  •

  • M Al Anouar has noted that his union is not concerned by the conflict between the ministry of justice and the association of the capital city Algiers, suggesting to M Sellini to settle the issue outside the association.

  •

  • Reacting to some views expressed by a number of associations that advocated the withdrawal of the draft project, he declared” We are supposed to act in a democratic way and I’m not here commenting my colleagues’ views because we are friends after all. But Sellini’s declaration doesn’t reflect our association’s general view”.

  •

  • He went on saying” We conferred with the head of the legal committee at the parliament for over 5 hours and unanimously agreed upon the draft law; we cannot freeze a draft law that has been passed by the cabinet but we can make some revisions on it at the legal committee”.
