Algerian Muslim Association tossed between renewal and change

The Algerian Muslim Scholars Association is set to organize tomorrow its third meeting amid speculations about the resignation of its current head, Abdrehamane Chibane who expressed his will to step down and give free way to his successor Mohammed Al Hadi Al Hassani.

Huge media uproar came into the surface these days triggered by the supporters of both M. Chibane and M. Hassani but none of the two camps really expressed their preference as to the future candidate.

For his part, M. Hadi Hassani denied the fact and told Echorouk Monday that he had nothing to do either with the association or its meeting” .. he went on saying” I’m in my house and don’t care about those people, because the association is not a mere organization, it is also a state of mind, and I do not feel belong to this ideology”.
