Algerian Officials Forced Chinese Companies Offending Anti-Seismic Standards, Ambassador
Ambassador of China to Algeria, Liu Yuhe has accused some Algerian officials of interfering in the work of Chinese companies operating in the field of construction, as some times “they are required to follow construction methods that do not respect anti-seismic requirements and standards.â€
Ambassador Liu Yuhe further defended the quality work of Chinese firms operating in Algeria. He told reporters: “Well, our companies have already constructed high quality projects, including the east-west highway.”
“Yet, it seems some foreign parties are tending to fake the facts and circulate unfounded rumors to hinder our projects in Algeria,” the Chinese Ambassador accused.
He further mentioned that China will send 5 Chinese teachers to Algeria in the forthcoming days to resume the teaching of this language at universities. He said such a decision is in accordance with a convention sealed with three universities in Algiers, Oran and Constantine, which stipulates setting up a scientific council in charge of following up the teaching of Chinese language in the country.
On another side, Ambassador Liu Yuhe said China endorses the AU peace proposal to settle the crisis in Libya, with respect to the choice of the Libyan people.
