Algerian Players Suffer Injuries Before The Match Against Zimbabwe

Days before the first match of the Algerian soccer team, scheduled for March 26 in Blida against Zimbabwe in the third round of the eighth group of AFCON 2021 qualifiers, the number of injuries is increasing among the players of the national team.

Last Saturday, the middle of the offensive field of OGC Nice French club, Adam Ounas, left the field before the end of the confrontation against Monaco which won (2-1), for the 28th round of the French championship.

The former player of the Italian club Napoli, Adam Ounas, felt thigh level pain, waiting to be subjected to deep medical check-up.

Defence midfield of Qatar’s Al-Gharafa club, Adlène Guedioura, is also expected to be absent from the Zimbabwe match because of his severe knee injury.

According to the local press, the 34-year-old Algerian suffers from a cut in cross-ties, which means he will be away for a long time.

This injury is a painful blow for the former player of Nottingham Forest, the English club (Section Two), and he was the one who made special offers during the last Africa Cup 2019 in Egypt, where Algeria won the cup.

The rock of the national team and the Saudi Al-Chabab Club, Djameleddine Benlamri, remained out of the competitions for about two months, due to an ankle injury, and according to the local press, his return to training has become “close”, although Ben Zia did not enter much into the plans of the national coach, Djamel Belmadi, the new player of the French club Dijon (League One) suffered a thigh injury, which necessitates his absence for a whole month.

On the other hand, after gradually recovering, the Greek Olympiakos striker, El Arabi Hilal Soudani, was seriously injured following a cut in the crossed ligaments of the knee, an injury that ended his season early.

For his part, the right-back Youcef Attal (23) was subjected to a muscle tear last December, which forced him to surgery, and he will return to the field on April.

Despite these multiple injuries, options will be available to the Greens’ coach, Djamel Belmadi, to draw up the list concerned with the two round-trip matches against Zimbabwe to destroy the qualification visa for the AFCON finals in Cameroon 2021.
