Algerian Prime Minister : civil society's role decisive in 2004 presidential elections
Talking on the sidelines of the forum on “parliament, democracy and civil society” Sunday held at the Aurassi hotel in Algiers , the head of the government, Abdelazziz Belkhadem , called on reinforcing the role of the associations because they are an essential “part of the political scene.
He also highlighted the new strategy followed by the government in managing public putting forward, as he said, the strong conviction of this later in the role of these NGOs in structuring civil society.
In this respect, the head of the government declared “we have noticed the big role played by the civil society in the last presidential elections, and its strong demand to pursue implementation of the president’s program in addition to the commitment expressed by the “civil society” whenever the country expressed the need”.
