Algerian Red Crescent: Over 7000 volunteers participate in Ramadan solidarity campaign

Over 7000 volunteers in the ranks of the Algerian Red Crescent at the national level participate here on Sunday (the first day of Ramadan) in the process of solidarity in this holy month, particularly with regard to working in restaurants of compassion and distributing gabions for the needy.

 The Secretary-General of the Algerian Red Crescent, Mr. Lahsen Bouchakour said that Ramadan gabions are directly sent to home of families or at the level of the Red Crescent headquarters in the national territory, taking into account the dignity of the citizen.

“This process is done in coordination with public authorities and municipalities, departments of social activity. The Algerian Red Crescent in 48 localities includes committees subdivided into committees of departments and local committees”, he added.

“We cannot provide an exact figure of restaurants because they opened gradually, especially during the early days of this holy month. Every restaurant offers between 100 and 150 meals a day”.
