Algerian researchers criticize 125th position for Algeria in democracy
During a seminar held on the citizenship and development, Algerian researchers raised concerns about criteria used by international institutions to rank Algeria as the 125th country in terms of development and democracy. ‘’Algeria has improved a lot during the last years’’ and ‘’its position cannot be the one granted by these international institutions’’ said the researchers.
- Transparency in Algeria has also improved, according Professor Mhamed Barkouk who said ‘’It is true we are at the beginning of the road but we have achieved many positive steps regarding projects management especially’’ as he put it.
- Algeria’s five years investment program based on gaining more social development mixed to engaged political reforms can lead us to a better social peace said professor Barkouk who called on the construction of a real political game based on real political competition that will enhance confidence within the Algerian population regarding the political situation in the country.
