Algeria, in coordination with Tunisia, moved towards the Libyan crisis, in conjunction with the holding of a new meeting for dialogue between the various parties under the auspices of the United Nations.

Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the Minister Sabri Boukadoum received on Tuesday evening, a phone call from his Libyan counterpart, Mohamed Taher Siala, during which the two parties discussed developments of the situation in brotherly Libya and the prospects for the political process led by the United Nations.

“Boukadoum renewed Algeria’s commitment and unconditional solidarity with the brotherly Libyan people to reach an internal political solution to the crisis, away from any foreign interference”, the ministry’s statement added.

“Boukadoum also discussed the Libyan crisis with his Tunisian counterpart Othman Jerandi during a phone call, which is an opportunity to continue coordination and consultation on regional and international issues of common interest, especially the situation in brotherly Libya and how to advance the political process to achieve a lasting solution that preserves the unity and sovereignty of the Libyan people”.

According to the same source, the two ministers discussed many issues related to the special and fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries.

“Algeria confirmed every time that it supports a Libyan-Libyan political solution and that it is ready to host any dialogue conference to reach a solution”.

On Wednesday, a new meeting for the Libyan Dialogue Forum will be held to discuss developments in the political process and next steps, through visual communication technology, at the invitation of the UN mission.

The Forum for Political Dialogue includes 75 members, including members of the house of representatives and the Supreme Council of State, representatives of tribes from the East, West and South, and political parties as well.

The forum holds meetings frequently to reach a settlement that ends the existing political and institutional division in Libya and choosing the executive authority.
