As many as 105 thousand Algerian nationals took off abroad to celebrate the New Year.

The Arab Spring that blew on the region has heavily affected the tourism field, as no Algerian went to the strife torn Libya in the three last weeks of December, compared to 953 passengers in the same period of 2010, the figures show.

Syria, which used to be an attractive destination for Algerians, has seen a 42.38 percent drop of flights during the same period.

Tunisia was not affected a lot with only 8.68 percent drop, which means that it is still an attractive destination for Algerians.
