Algerians Stranded In Russia Call Upon Algeria’s Authorities To Evacuate Them
A number of the Algerians in Russia launched a distress call to the Algerian authorities to help them to return quickly to the homeland, in light of the worsening health crisis in Russia, and their inability to continue their lives in a normal way, after the interruption of studies and all means of transportation between Russian cities.
The Algerians who are are stranded in Russia are students in various university specializations like medicine, engineering and some of them are employees in several Russian cities, in addition to some of those who hold tourist travel visas that will soon expire and they confirmed in their contact with Echorouk, that they are facing very difficult living conditions after it was impossible for them to move between the various Russian cities due to the embargo that is imposed on them, and the movement of trains and various other means of transportation stopped, similar to the seven Algerians who are residing in Tambov, located 500 km from the Russian capital, Moscow, with their families, who found it very difficult to move to Moscow and communicate with the rest of the Algerian community, to find possible solutions to return to Algeria as soon as possible.
Several members of the Algerian community who are stranded in Russia assured us that they had contacted the Algerian embassy in Moscow a few days ago, and appealed to them to intervene to complete their travel procedures to Algeria, and all information about them had been taken before the embassy services returned to call them again to confirm the information and their passport numbers. However, until now, no action has been taken regarding the date of their deportation to Algeria.
Fears of the members of the Algerian community who are trapped in many Russian cities have increased from the continuation of the situation in light of the frightening spread of Coronavirus in this country, which exceeded 15.000 confirmed cases.
The Algerians who are there are unable to receive aid in the absence of any help, which led them to appeal to the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune to look at their situation and expedite the procedures for their return to Algeria, similar to the rest of the Algerians who are coming from different countries of the world, asserting their full commitment to stay in quarantine in the places determined by the Algerian authorities.
