Health Minister, Abdelmalek Boudiaf, announced on reducing the dates of the chemotherapy for cancer patients to 15 days instead of six full months, pointing to a new procedure that will come into effect soon, and it comes to a new model for the medical death certificate, as it will be consolidated at the level of all public and private hospitals to tackle fraud.

Boudiaf Sunday said , on the sidelines of the International Forum on Health Policies, that pressure will be lifted.

“We should put an end to cancer patients’ suffering, through the opening of new centers, after supporting centers in Blida, Algiers, and Oran, in addition to Telemcen center which will be inaugurated this year. Defense Ministry signed contracts with two companies, an American “Friome” and Swedish “Ilekta” to provide spare parts for chemotherapy machines and devices”, he added.

“Hospitals and Health centers suffer from bad management. Health sector needs improvement and progress to answer the citizens’ requirements, because health service does not please citizens despite the large financials funds which the state provided for that purpose”

“A set of encouraging measures was taken to develop the sector, which remains one of the state’s most important concerns, because it comes to the citizens’ health. Scarcity of medicines in which the sector lived two years ago, was solved by the Central Pharmacy, because it adopted the rule of providing medicines for hospitals which need that, provided that the demand should be asked by the Directorate or Pasteur Institute.
