Algiers Rejects Receiving the Syrian SNC “For the Moment”

Algeria has rejected “for the moment” to receive a delegation of the opposition coalition of the Syrian National Council (SNC), member of the SNC, Jabr al-Shawqi, said Wednesday.

Mr al-Shawqi told Echorouk reporter that the SNC has requested to pay a work visit to Algeria “in order to ask Algiers to recognize the SNC as the legitimate representative of the Syrian people and to withdraw its embassy from Syria, adding “Yet, Algiers said it cannot receive the SNC for the moment, without explaining why.”

Elsewhere, a source within the SNC told Echorouk reporter that the Syrian opposition groups have agreed to meet in Tunisia on 26 and 27 November.
