AQIM confirms the death of Abdelkahar Belhadj in Algeria
Algiers-Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) announced on Tuesday the death of Abdelkahar Belhadj.
Belhadj was killed with two other people as they were driving a car that was detonated.
Belhadj was the son the former president of the Islamic Salvation Front (FIS) party in Algeria Ali Belhadj.
The FIS is an Islamist political party in Algeria outlawed by the government in March 1992, accused of acts of violence and terrorism.
