Archbishop of Algeria complains of bureaucracy in obtaining visas

The Minister of Religious Affairs, Bouabdellah Ghoulamellah, told the Archbishop of Algeria Bader Ghaleb that the Algerian laws are the same for everyone so they are applied on everyone when it comes to the procedures of obtaining visas in order to be allowed to enter Algerian territory.  

  • The new Archbishop of Algeria,  Jordanian Ghaleb Bader, complained during a meeting Monday with the Minister of Religious Affairs at the Ministry in Algiers, about the bureaucratic obstacles and the slow procedures in obtaining visas for a number of pastors wishing to visit Algeria from Arab countries in order to serve the catholic church in Algeria.
  •  This was explained by the Minister as normal.
  • The Archbishop of Algeria Ghaleb Bader begun his work as head of the Catholic Church on October 10  2008, after replacing the former French Archbishop Henry Tessier, who served it for nearly 30 years.
