Bad Weather: Three dead in floods east of Algeria
Taref (east of Algeria)-Three people perished on board of two cars in which they were travelling, as they were swept away by waters here on Friday, services of Civil Protection told APS.
Torrential floods hit the region of Taref (east of Algeria) resulting from heavy rains on Wednesday night and Thursday morning, which overflowed the river of Oued Seibous submerging several localities.
The same source added that the body of a young man was found here on Friday by citizens near the river of Oued Kebir, adjacent to the road connecting the town of Taref to a small village of Ain Khiar, his car was also found.
Wednesday night, two men on board of a small car had been washed away in another town of the region.
Significant damage was also caused by the bad weather.
Algeria noticed torrential rains during the last two weeks and heavy snowfall which blocked the heights of Algiers, causing dozens of deaths.
Europe was also hit simultaneously by a Siberian cold that made at least 620 deaths since the beginning of February.
