Starting from next week, all the bakers at 14.000 bakeries will benefit from interest and taxes free bank loans, to enable them to acquire generators and bakery equipment, to ease the costs of gas and electricity, head of the Federation of Algerian Bakers said at Echorouk Forum.

“The bank loans, estimated to 100.000 DZD, will be paid over eight and 10 years, without the benefits of usury. Bakers will take them from the Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development. They have to file their applications at the level of the bank’s branches. Government ‭asked ‭them to buy ‭equipment ‭and generators ‭that are produced in Algeria and not those imported from foreign countries, and make it clear that this important condition should be respected”.

Head of the National Federation of Bakers spoke about the problem of debts, which remains the responsibility of bakers, saying that over 90 percent of the bakers have debts at the directorates of tax; “The value of the taxes collected from bakers mortgages the fate of the bread’s price in Algeria, which remains subject to talk with the Trade Ministry. There would be no rising of bread’s price in ‭ the future, because it ‭will remain‭ ‬supported by government. Costs of ‭bread industry has doubled four ‭times since 1996.
