Belkhadem reacts to topple Saadani
Former leader of Algeria’s National Liberation Front (FLN) Abdelaziz Belkhadem was among 257 opponents of its current Secretary General Amar Saadani who submitted a request to hold an emergency session of the party’s central committee.
Abdelkrim Abada, a senior member at the FLN said three leading members asked for holding the session as 257 signatures were collected including that of Belkhadem.
Earlier, Belkhadem surprisingly attended a rally organized by the FLN in Algiers. That raised questions about his intentions to be at the head of the party once again.
Abada told Echorouk the session will deal with the possibility of appointing a new Sectary General or choosing a group to lead the party.
He added that members who were dismissed by Saadani will issue a release to reject his decisions.
