Belmadi: “We Will Go To Qatar World Cup To Secure Our Best Achievement”

Djamel Belmadi, the Algerian national head coach, said, on Tuesday, that his goal is geared to participating in the upcoming World Cup in Qatar with the aim of “snatching the best achievement” with the Desert Warriors of Algeria.

Arriving in August 2018 at the bedside of an Algerian team in great difficulty, Djamel Belmadi has totally transformed the face and destiny of this team that he led until the final victory in the African Cup of Nations (CAN).

The former OM and PSG player has changed dimension since then and has inevitably aroused the interest of numerous European teams.

This is not enough to destabilize the 44-year-old remarkable coach, who is totally focused on the World Cup 2022 objective.

“Today it is Algeria and Algeria alone”.

“You really have to have a lot of humility. Because this job is so random, and depends on many things”, stated Belmadi, under contract until 2022 with Algeria, at a press conference.

“The capped players are the main actors. So I don’t have a career plan. I’m with Algeria, by 2000%. The upcoming World Cup in Qatar is not a lesser objective. I can’t think of doing anything else. Today my prime interest is Algeria and Algeria alone”, he stressed.
