Benbouzid: “School Comeback Date Is In The Hands Of The Government”

The Minister of Health, Population and Hospital Reform, Abderahmane Benbouzid, confirmed today that the decision to set the date for the start of the school year is in the hands of the Ministry of Education, but in coordination with the Ministry of Health and by order of the President of the Republic and the Council of Ministers.

The Minister further revealed that a meeting was held between the Ministry and the committee of experts, at which everything related to the issue was expounded, including preventive measures during the projected school resumption, where it was agreed to divide students during classes between those who study in the morning and those who study in the evening, with emphasis on physical distancing and the compulsory wearing of masks.

Regarding the new assessments of the Covid 19 pandemic, the health minister said that Algeria has not yet triumphed over the epidemic and continues its fight against it, as he said during his appearance as a guest of a morning program on the national radio channel One, that thanks to the efforts of health professionals and citizens, satisfactory results have been recorded in this regard.

In the same context, the first official in charge of the health sector reiterated his assertion that the figures announced are true and that this dynamic must be preserved, especially in the light of what many countries are experiencing due to the high number of infected cases.
