School Year 2016-2017 will start with the application of the second-generation reforms, for the benefit of pupils of the first and second years of the fondamental and middle stages, National Education Minister, Nouria Benghebrit, said.

Benghebrit refused to respond to the syndicates which ask for postponing the application of this program, while she asserted she is responsible for involving French experts in the preparation of what was termed as the “second generation reforms” in front of the MPs.

Education Minister called upon journalists, on the sidelines of today’s parliamentary works on new approaches and educational theories, to recognize the efforts which were made by the National Committee For Curricula, which brought several Algerian experts, against the backdrop of media hype that accompanied the issue of imposing French experts for the public school’s reforms.

“Many parties criticized the work of the Commission saying that it is working in secret, doubting their national identity.”

“Second-generation reforms carry many positive things for the school, especially those relating to the development of language proficiency among pupils, with the development of competencies in a very important module which is mathematics. Our experts relie on three basic elements which are Islam, Arabic and Berber.”

“My objective is the need to pass in an emergency to confront the mediocrity, both at the level of management and governance, or the fight against mediocrity in school results, which is the first and principal enemy of the school, in order to ensure graduates of the school with personal efficiency and will to continue their studies.”
