Bensalah: “The opening of corruption files is evidence of the state’s sincerity and approach”

The chairman of the council of the nation or upper house of Parliament, Abdelkader Bensalah, has affirmed that the opening of the corruption files by the parties concerned translated the sincerity and approach of the state which should be, as he put it, fully backed and encouraged.

Taking the floor on Monday at the opening of the autumn session of the council of the nation, Mr Bensalah hailed the courage of the parties concerned which had opened the files of those people implicated in the embezzlement of public funds to submit them to justice.

While stressing the necessity of relentlessly struggling against the “impunity policy”, the chairman of the council of the nation called for the backing of equitable trials.

“Those people who trespass the “red limits” defined by the law should be punished”, he said while bringing into focus the state’s major achievements on the political, socio-economic and security plans.

He also hailed the government’s approach aimed at getting closer to the citizen through the stepping up of visits across all the wilayas or provinces of the country.
