Bolivian ship seized by authorities since 6 months west of Algeria

Workers of a Bolivian ship, including Egyptians and Indians called upon embassies of their countries to intervene and deport them to their homelands, describing their situation as a real tragedy, after the decision of seizure issued by the authorities of Oran port (west of Algeria).

 

The ship was seized since 6 months in the port, and its crew is suffering because they are unable to see their families, and did not receive their wages since the date of seizure.

 According to information obtained by “Echorouk”, the vessel that was seized in the port of Oran is named “Nazem” from Latin America and exactly from Bolivia, but its owner is  a Libyan who shiped a quantity of iron from Greece for the benefit of an Algerian company in Oran (west of Algeria), but after anchoring in the ‭port, authorities‭ ‬ found ‭that the ‭amount ‭ ‬ charged is ‭incomplete ‭ and does not respect‭ ‬ the ‭legal conditions, ‭what pushed the authorities of the ‭port detained it, as a precautionary measure‭. 
The crew composed of 16 workers, including Egyptians and 14 Indians, who were deported except five sailors who are still trapped in ship, and are suffering they because they had not received their salaries from the owner of the ship, which prevented them from visiting their their home countries, and from seeing their families, especially the captain of the ship who is the most affected, and could not bear this situation, according to ‭his colleagues, ‭and is also suffering degradation of ‭health, adding that he was transfered ‭to hospital, where he lies ‬since ‭three months.

The five sailors said they are stranded, and did not find only some of the good citizens of Oran, who provided them with food and drink, adding that they are now appealing the higher authorities in Algeria, as well as their embassy for deportation.
