Boudiaf: “Security measures to protect doctors and ward off penetration of strangers into hospitals”
The Ministers of Health, Population and Hospital Reform, and Higher Education and Scientific Research, respectively Abdelmalek Boudiaf and Tahar Hadjar chaired Wednesday in the city of Annaba (far-eastern Algeria) the graduation ceremony of the 2nd promotion of paramedics, holders of a professional license.
Speaking at the ceremony attended by the laureates of the promotion from the different provinces of the country with their families, Mr Boudiaf said “the health facilities of the country will be fully covered by 2019, according to international norms by paramedics’ staffs”.
Efforts by the State for paramedic training has contributed to the promotion of the national health system on the management plans of the organization and led to improving the service provided to patients, Mr Boudiaf asserted.
This has been achieved in recent years in this area, including training which has been “unprecedented”, added the minister, stressing that the promotion of 2016 includes 9,113 paramedical and nursing auxiliaries, while that of next year (2017) will strengthen the health facilities by 12,000 health officers and paramedics.
The health minister who pointed to the ‘fruits’ of the ongoing reforms in various sectors, said the ” supreme ” goal of the current reforms witnessed by the health sector was to ” promote the national health system by ensuring better care for patients through the rational use of human and material resources”.
Mr Abdelmalek Boudiaf also underscored on the occasion that security measures would be bolstered to protect doctors and medical staff from any acts of aggression and to avert any penetration of strangers into hospitals or heath centers in the country.
For his part the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research focused on the ongoing training efforts in the area of Health, saying his sector will remain a partner in the various programs and training operations.
In this context, the minister said that a close coordination was ongoing between the sectors of Health, Population and Hospital Reform and Higher Education and Scientific Research to find an adequate consensus formula for creating diplomas linked to paramedical training.
The ministers, after having honored the laureates of this promotion named after the deceased Mohamed Bounib Sandid- trained in various institutes and national training schools, visited the anti-Cancer Center (CAC) of Annaba, where they inquired about the support-care conditions provided to the patients in this health facility.
