British Ambassador Martyn Roper: “Over 15.000 entry visas issued annually to Algerians”

More than 15.000 entry visas to Great Britain are granted to Algerian nationals each year, the British Ambassador in Algeria His Excellency Martyn Roper said Saturday in Algiers.

• Taking the floor during a press conference in Algiers, Mr Martyn Roper indicated that over 15 thousand visas were being issued on a yearly basis by the British Embassy services in Algeria adding that the duration for the issuing of such a travel document lasted less than 15 days.

• With regard to the 2012 Olympic Games due to be hosted by Great Britain, the British diplomat advised those Algerians eager to attend this upcoming mega sporting event to “request as from now this document online via the Web”.

• On Algerian-British relations, Mr Roper brought into focus the existence between the two countries of what he termed “a close cooperation” notably in the sustained fight against terrorism as well as in the fields of defense and energy.
