Brother of Algerian Prisoner in Iraq “Belhadi” calls on Bouteflika to find the truth

Family of the Algerian prisoner in Iraq – who got death sentence – was unable to reach the President of the Republic to submit its complaint relating to knowledge of the fact and the fate of Abdellah Ahmed Balhadi, to be sure whether he is dead or alive, after Iraqi authorities said he death penalty was done in his case, according to previous statements to Echorouk made by Iraq’s ambassador to Algiers, last Thursday.

Saddam Belhadi, brother of the prisoner Abdellah Ahmad, said on Tuesday that his family spent three days in the capital Algiers, coming from Ouad Souf to know the fate of the son Abdellah, but did not reach any conclusion or fact, at the time Iraqi judicial authorities declared the death sentence against Abdellah Ahmed Balhadi, 28.

Saddam Belhadi told Echorouk that they did not receive adequate information and accurate news about whether the death sentence had been carried out or not, at the time Iraq’s ambassador to Algiers asserted that the death penalty had been implemented against Ahmad Balhadi, and that there were two prisoners, Abou Salah Nasr Mohamed Taliba and Hussein Saeed Ibrahim, who faced death sentence to life imprisonment.

Saddam was suprised by the way the services of the presidency dealt with the issues of citizens saying; “The president did not hear that citizens are prevented from reception. A policeman refused to receive us at the entrance and insisted on pres*venting us from entering, saying that he received orders to prevent any person from entering to the presidency. We contacted on Tuesday the presidency and we could not deliver any formal complaint despite that we explained our case to them, and that we are the family of the Algerian prisoner in Iraq. The policeman told us to send our complaint by fax. “

On the other hand, Saddam Balhadi contacted with a lawyer and the Association of Lawyers in Algiers to see the legal procedures to be followed in the same issue, and how to take advantage of the help of the authorities; “Since three days we did not get any news, we are now heading to Oued Souf, but we ask the President Bouteflika to consider the facts and knows that his entourage do not bother citizens and push to hate the state. The president does not receive news about the citizens, we want him to hear the case and the reason of our visit to Algiers. We are searching for the truth about our son through the committee that is charged with the issue of Algerian prisoners in Iraq or facilitate the task of visiting him. “
