Cabinet to discuss new associations’ draft law

The cabinet will discuss today during its weekly meeting the provisions of a draft law ruling the associations. Should this law be enacted, the associations would be summoned to comply with the new legislation.

• The new law aims at drawing up a new framework for the associations’ activities, in a move to put to an end to the prevailing anarchy and mismanagement. The project is part of the all out political reform imitated by the pres Bouteflika.

• The cabinet is set to discuss the revisions made by the members of the Executive on the electoral draft law during the meeting slated for next week.

• The associations’ draft law comprises allows the creation of new non governmental associations and determines the forbidden practices that should be banned from the newly created associations.

• The cabinet is about to complete the latest revisions over the laws within the framework of the political reform initiated by the president Bouteflika and will forward them to the parliament for endorsement next fall.
