Cabinet to start rounds of discussions over the political reforms
The government is set to discuss a draft organic law dealing with the elections during its meeting next Wednesday as part of series of consultations over the political reforms initiated by the president Bouteflika.

According to the agenda of the cabinet’s meeting, the draft law will be thoroughly discussed provision by provision in a bid to come up with a final version likely to remedy the flaws included in the present electoral system.

This one has been a largely criticized by the different political actors either from the parties in power or those in the opposition.

The draft law will particularly focus on the type of the electoral system that will be implemented in Algeria as from the next legislative elections slated for 2012. Moreover, the law will set the future requirements for the future candidacies.
